Lee, I can totally relate to what you're saying, although I don't have any easy answers, being comfortable, white, middle-class, educated male. I'm sure you have come across Urban Expressions that Stuart Murray Williams is involved with, mainly coming from an Anabaptist perspective. May be of interest. I wonder if the problem you're talking about is especially true in CofE circles?

John Hull was very critical of this idea of churches 'by the poor, for the poor' saying “This is a grave error. The poor are empowered not by having their own poor churches but by escaping from poverty.”
