Seattle Monorail Project, Seattle

This is a promotional video that was produced for the Seattle Monorail Project. The SMP was enacted and reaffirmed by three separate referendums but, because of financial problems and a lack of official support, it was canceled after a fourth referendum. I had NO part in the production of this video. The footage in this video is copyright The Monorail Society and posted with permission. www.monorails.org

@21Laser – I would have classified the Wuppertal as an underhung railway system rather than a true monorail. It actually has rails either side of the coach hangers.

@plogan721 its costs $ 1m per mile to build the beam and each train cost $5-6m each

  9. plogan721 says:

How much does a Monorail costs to expand it? you would think that WDW would have expand it to the other parks by now (disney Studios, Animal Kingdom, Downtown Disney, and the Water Parks)

    Dear All,

I have some questions about psychology:

    (1) Why do we love space architecture?

    (2) Why do we like to travel by space-age transportation system?

    (3) Will travelling be more exciting if future vehicles are floating in the air? and Why?

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE for your creative ideas and brainstorm!!! :)

  13. 21Laser says:

Sorry, Wuppertal, Germany beat it by 60 years or so.

Any city that wants tourism should get the Bombraider monorails. Even people that have never been to WDW still recognize them.

The Disney World and Las Vegas trains are Bombardier, most of the other monorails shown were made by Hitachi. Not sure about the Australian and New Jersey systems.

  23. sideslide23 says:

these Monorail are all built by Bombardier and Shinkansen right?

  24. sideslide23 says:

the regular Monorail has a Wheels that stabilize it, the Maglev can be a flat madnetic railway or a Monorail tracks with Magnets that stablelize instead of wheels like the other Monorail, for example Shanghi China has a Maglev works like a monorail accept it runs on Magnets so Shanghi has the world fastest Monorail in th world.

@azrial4421 People like you are retards and easily offended. He was making a joke about the song being depressing, not making fun of Elliotts death. Oh and I’m sure you’ve made jokes about touchy subjects in your life, I hope you fucking fall from your ivory tower. /Fuck you

Don’t go the same way. Seek help. A crying shame to lose such a talent. Reach out. It’s just a phase you got to get through. Noone said it would be easy. Fight.

  35. SebbDerZauberer says:

I like the qotsa studio version of this song more than elliott’s, but THIS is actually the best version of the song at all.

  36. dpowanator says:

@KillerOrAssassin97 no it doesn’t. qotsa are my second favorite band next to zeppelin. but elliott’s version is better.

@QOTSAPT life is what you make it, depression makes it that way

  44. Aulrin462 says:

This is one my favorite songs. The lyrics are so pissed and cynical with a hint of remorse for even opening up in the first place. That’s what I get form it. I feel like that all the time. I’ve never seen this version. Its pretty awesome.

  45. comeonboeltsy says:

“Fake concern says ‘What’s the matter, man?’ and you think I oughtta shake your motherfucking hand.” There is more anger put into those words than anything… I get that in my head a lot.

  46. QOTSAPT says:

killing yourself with booze is weak its not that addictive hes a writer and singer hes life must not be that bad that he kills him self with booze
