I find it interesting during the tour rehearsals (when the Eminence Front video and the Schiltz beer ad) Roger was playing a black Schecter Telecaster like Pete’s. But during the actual tour he seems to have used a blonde Fender Esquire, like in this video. BTW, this is a great version of the song. The bass is nice and loud in the mix (as it should always be when Thunderfingers is present) and Pete’s playing is inspired.
Pete looks so young 28-years ago in this video. Man, he looks way different now.

I saw the Who play live about this time in Dallas,Texas. It was touted as the “Last American Tour”. Yeah…right. Still, it was awesome and I particularly remember this “new” tune.
I can’t believe what Pete’s capable of on his guitar. He always seems to have quiet a struggle with his solos and then he turns out to be a jazz rock virtuoso

Man, what a time piece. Actually, this was supposed to be it for the band. If memory serves me correctly, this their “last” tour. They would have toured in 1981, but Pete delayed the release of the ‘It’s Hard” LP until a year later. Seems as though the band didn’t want anyone stealing their thunder- They didn’t want their tour to coincide with the Stones’ 1981-82 Tattoo You tour.
Pete at his absolute cool, coolest. From synthesizer (which he wrote and laid down) to lyrics, no one comes close. Watch the way he plays lead guitar on this song…absolutely effortless

Thanks for all the feedback on this video. We had 2 1/2 days to cover as much of Seattle as we could. Hopefully we made you locals proud! And if I suggested any sort of transportation other than walking, its because we were walking from 6am till 8pm, and I was probably a bit worn out.
And I am from Denver, and we also take cabs… not just on the East Coast!!

@Bamboozerz No kidding, I’m surprised he didn’t cover the Junction. I’ve lived in Seattle nearly all my life, though W. Seattle is one of those places you rarely go unless you have to (and most outsiders do not). I moved there about 2 and a half years ago and couldn’t believe what I’d missed out on for so long. It reminded me of the old Seattle (pre-dotcom boom). I’ve since moved to the coast, but if I ever move back to Seattle, It’s W. Seattle or nothing.
The fun forest is no more, the monorail exists solely for tourism (no one uses it for legitimate travel), the EMP and Science center are dying. Heh, there are many great things about my city, but you can stick a fork in the Seattle center, It’s done like dinner. Also, if you have any respect for your digestive system at all, avoid Dick’s hamburgers like the plague, or you might just wind up with one.
You gotta go to the troll under the Aurora Ave. Bridge — sometimes called the George Washington Bridge — at N. 36th Street. Despite the troll’s name, it is not under the nearby Fremont bridge.Another site is the Statue of Liberty.

@nakiflo Hahaha. You are absolutely right. I was kind of surprised when he suggested a cab. It will be hard to find a cab in Seattle, I’d suggest renting a car. He also neglects to mention that you’ll have difficulty using Seattle public transit, as it runs infrequently and does not have good consistent coverage for all the areas.

He messed up a couple of times, #1 from the shops in lower queen anne to the Seattle center is a 3 block walk and from the shot where you can see Nordstrom he says he will take a bus to Pike place and cmon, its a couple of blocks to it! anyways its an Ok video!

Great hosting, my only critique is the camera work. Why not do some more city shots( ie you didnt show anything in queen anne but close up shots). Overall this was a very good tour.
