Top tips to avoid bingeing (They worked for me)
Eat regularly, small meals. 3 meals and 2 snacks. never let yourself get hungry. it might seem like you are eating loads, but provided they are the correct things, you will end up eating less overall.
Don't buy more than you need! if its a binge food, dont have sufficient for a binge in the house.
Plan, plan and plan some more. make a timetable and stick to it. this means you know when and what your next food item will be. no margin of error. also it prevents spur of the moment buying of junk food.
distraction really works. make a list of things to do after a meal so it doesn't lead to a binge
only get out what you plan to eat, don't eat out of packets, in front of the tv, or walking about.
Accidents happen. life eventually will get you! if you have a bad day and binge, it happens. get straight back on the horse the next day, don't beat yourself up over the binge.
put your knife and fork down between each bite.
not sure about the smoking thing. i find the minute i dont have a cigarette then i start reaching for the sweets…..
