Yesterday I managed to drive to the Kerry Viewpoint at Queen Anne. It’s been snowing in Seattle and I really wanted a winter picture with Seattle in the background and snow and all those things, so even I knew it could be a tough fight with the icy slopes I wanted to try. At the end it wasn’t that hard… well, one thing I can say: I’m very happy with my Rav4 4wd, its behavior under snow an ice conditions has proved to be excellent so far.
There was nobody up there, and it was freezing believe me. The chilly air wasn’t helping at all to bare the low 20’s we got yesterday night. But that was expected and I had my snow parka, my polar cap and my polar gloves without fingertips with me (give much more easy control on the camera), I jumped out of my car and took some pictures of the beautiful scene in front of my eyes. I hope you like them!

Seattle’s Schizophrenic Weather

Is it sunny or rainy? Who can tell? Maybe it’s both!
If you’re not familiar with Seattle weather this is what is known as a "sun break". Basically that means the general weather is cloudy and rainy but there are very localized "breaks" where blue sky is visible and the sun can shine through for brief periods of time.
To the left, downtown Seattle is being rained on rather hard, in the middle there are sun breaks over queen anne hill and to the right the rain picks up again over fremont and wallingford.
