Here’s a full quality version of Shawn Lane playing “Rules of the Game”, with Sean Rickman on drums. This footage is from Shawn’s “Power Licks” instructional video and was privately shot at KTZZ-TV in Seattle, WA. in 1993. There were 3 lots of actual performance footage used for Shawn’s 2 REH videos… live footage of Shawn playing at Sneaky Petes, Memphis (on the 13th Dec 1991) was used for the intro for the first video (Power Licks)…. but as for the performance footage from during both videos, some of it was taken at “Musicians Institute, Hollywood, CA – 5th Feb 1993″ (with full Powers of Ten band minus Todd Bobo/sax who apparently couldn’t make it that day…. there is a live audience for this footage)……. the rest of the performance footage from his instructional videos (ie. “Rules of the Game”, “Gray Piano’s Flying”, “Not Again” and one of the versions of “Epilogue: for Lisa”) with just Shawn Lane and Sean Rickman playing to backing tracks in a private studio, with no audience, was filmed in 1993 at “KTZZ – TV, Seattle, WA. There were two versions of “Epilogue: for Lisa” in Shawn’s instructional videos. The version near the end of the first video (Power Licks) was taken from the Seattle footage (with no audience), and the version during the end credits of the second video (Power Solos) was taken from the “MIT – 5th Feb 1993″ concert footage. @ShredFever92 Can’t agree with you view that Govan has surpassed Lane, all opinion on that one. I just through lifeson in there caused i love Rush, obv hes nowhere near as technical as any of the other players listed. Thal is fantastic, but imo hes def not as good as Govan, GG may have said hes better just to be modest, Thal has said multiple times that GG is the most talented guitarist hes ever seen.

@Kingding6 i think govan has even surpassed lane. but lane did leave us too early. i love them both. good list but i disagree with lifeson. and just so everyone knows, ron thal is pretty much as good as govan. govan even claims ron thal is better. and hes by far the best tapper. hes creative and another vigier player like lane. check him out

@Kingding6 I saw him at a clinic, so like I said it may be pretty biased for me to say haha. Although I felt like he did things that really should not possible in real life, my friends and I had never seen that side of him too often.

you could throw scott henderson and george benson in there instead of prince and egberto, but prince gives you chills like no other, and egberto covers such a vast realm of guitar playing that is never mentioned, he’s worth having on there. jimmy page is 11th.
gilbert has no soul to speak of. that is all that counts. lifeson has no chance. govan is the best purely technical player today.

@MyShawnLaneVideos this is the reason why i dont upload video’s of me playing as soon as i get better than one guy than i meet another on the internet who plays with insanely rediculous precision, there was a video of him play 19 notes a second, a rare breed of feeling and technicality combined, to bad more people didnt know him when he was alive…he’s better than most of the more recognized musicians now in days.

The basic idea behind what's lacking in the Mac version is that they've placed a higher priority on getting out a product with the most used features without slowing things down in development.
Right now, Logos is also working on version 4 for PC and if they put too much time on getting the Mac version on par with PC's version 3, then by the time version 4 comes out, the Mac version would simply be behind again. The goal is to get as close to complete feature parity with PC version 4 rather than always having the Mac version behind in development.
