Seattle Art Museum Re-Opening, 5/5/2007, 2am

The SAM reopening made Seattle feel like a real city, if even for just one night. They brought in the new space with utmost style, bringing in DJs and staying open for 24 hours straight. I showed up at 1am and stuck around until 3:30, and people were still filing in. If SAM’s goal was to re-engage the populace, mission accomplished, since _everyone_ was there, from the art crowd to the partiers, kids to old folks. Despite the large number of drunk folk, I saw no incidents, so props to Seattle for that.
