Abney Park is a band based in Seattle formed in 1997 that mixes elements of darkwave, industrial dance and more recently steampunk. Their name comes from Abney Park Cemetary in London. I miss how these guys used to sound. Not a fan of their new steampunk sound

@calebweberlov00 some underground-y stores have them, like Gothic-type, off-the-wall places. I know this place called Ranch Records where you can get a copy of Evnescence’s ‘Origin’ and other never-hit-the-charts stuff, and I’ll bet you can find AP in a place like that–if you get there in time!

I heard that they’re playing at a new convention next year in March called the Wild Wild West Con. It’s in Arizona, I believe. I’ve been debating if I should get their older stuff, because I really love their new style, but I suppose any fan of Abney Park should go back to the roots if they are to call themselves a true fan.

The site that hosts the Linux kernel’s source code, Kernel.org was compromised earlier this month. The discovery was made on August 28th, and steps are being taken now to enhance security for the site and recovery is underway. The kernel code repositories are believed to be unaffected. According to an unattributed post on the front page of Kernel.org, intruders managed to gain access via a compromised user credential. It’s currently unknown how the attacker managed to escalate to root access. The trojan was discovered due to an error showing in a system log from a program not actually installed on the server (Xnest). i saw an art project once where the artist put some people infront of a camera for 1 whole hour and let them stare direktly into the camera (not moving just staring 1 hour) and then the artist took the last 10 minutes of each persons stare-video and made a video-art out of it. that was really really creapy and scarry seeing these “paintings” of people that twinkle and make littlest movements in the face. but the point of the art was, like the title sayes: present time.
